The Edenbridge Community Christmas Association (ECCA) Duck Race is a lottery promoted by Edenbridge Community Christmas Association who are the organising committee.
You must be over 16 to purchase a duck.
Each duck can be purchased for £2 while ducks are available. The purchase of a duck will mean it is automatically entered into the race (unless you choose to opt out of the race) whereby the purchaser may then keep the duck and will be notified of a collection time and location. Any ducks not collected by their owners will be made available for sale as part of future fundraising events.
The race involves over 2000 plastic ducks which have been individually numbered. All the ducks are released at the same time from the bridge at Mont St Aignan Way on the River Eden and float down the river to the finish line at The Great Stone Bridge. All ducks purchased will be sold in sequential order but will all be jumbled prior to the drop
There is a random chance as to the order the ducks will reach the finish line, the order they arrive will determine the prize awarded from the three cash prizes on offer. Ducks which arrive simultaneously will be picked at random and the order chosen will determine the prize and will be at the discretion of the organisers. The first 3 ducks will win a prize.
Winners will be contacted by email using the information provided at the time of purchase. If the information provided is incomplete, unreadable, or inaccurate, the organisers reserve the right to award the prize to a runner up duck ticket holder. If you believe you are a winner and have not been contacted within 5 days of the event, please contact the organisers by email Ducks@theecca.co.uk to make your claim. Claims will need to be supported by providing the original email which clearly shows your duck’s number, or a copy of the email for those tickets purchased online.
Purchasing a duck ticket does not guarantee a prize and the decision of the organisers is final.
The organisers of the event can be contacted by email at Ducks@theecca.co.uk
The Edenbridge Community Christmas Association (ECCA) Business Duck Race is a lottery promoted by Edenbridge Community Christmas Association who are the organising committee.
You must be over 16 to purchase a duck.
Each duck can be purchased for £50 while ducks are available. Business Ducks purchased last year (2025) can be re-entered into this year's race by purchasing a 're-entry' ticket for £25. The purchase of a duck will mean it is automatically entered into to the race (unless you choose to opt out of the race).
The business duck will be delivered to you or can be collected by prior arrangement by emailing ducks@theecca.co.uk . Please note that you may decorate the duck as you wish, however this must be environmentally friendly with nothing able to fall off in the river, and any pens / paints used must not be poisonous to the river.
ECCA volunteers will collect the duck for the race by Sunday 5th July. If your duck is not ready to race by then, it will forfeit, it’s place in the race.
ECCA volunteers will liaise with the business to return the duck where required but do ask that if you are able to collect them following the race that you do so either after the race or within the following week. Any ducks not wanted by their owners may be made available for sale as part of the future fundraising.
Any businesses that keep their duck will be able to re-enter in future duck races at a reduced price.
