The Pinewood Derby – Sat 13 Sept

🏁 Rev Up for the edenbridge Pinewood Derby! (10:00-14:00)

The Pinewood Derby is a simple and fun day of high-speed thrills, creativity, and friendly competition at the Edenbridge Scout Hut on the High Street.

Build a car from a block of wood (originally from pine wood) and let your imagination go wild. There are two types of car kits to choose from, and hundreds of designs are available online or you can create your own unique design. As long as your design fits the completion criteria, then anything goes!

Bring the family, your friends, and most importantly, bring your racing spirit. 🏁

How the racing works

Scalextric without electrics.

Your creation will be entered into the race event with at least six races with a chance to become the 1st ECCA Pinewood Champion. The cars will race down a wooden track, without any form of propulsion.

Purchase your Pinewood Car Kit for £10 and let your imagination take the wheel. From sleek racers to wild creations — anything goes, as long as it rolls and meets the official  Derby rules and requirements, available with your kit and at the  bottom of this page.

ORDER OF PLAY

🚗  Action starts with registration at 10:00 sharp, with races and fun from 10:30 continuing until 16:00.

Once the main races have finished, grab yourself a bite to eat and take part in the open track session. This is your chance to race your mates or family.

We will collect details of who you want to race during the morning, each person will get about 2 minutes of track time.
