Today, the band has around 20 members. Like many brass bands there is a loyalty and enthusiasm which runs right through the whole family, with parents, children and even grandchildren coming together to make music, under the baton of their Musical Director Mr David Pocock.
A friendly community the brass band get together every Wednesday in their purpose built band room in the Market Yard.
They are an incredibly supportive and welcoming brass band and if you would like to find out more information or might be interested in joining them, go to their website by clicking below.
The Forge Singers first got together to go carol singing, calling on Winston Churchill and his family at Chartwell on Christmas Day 1955 and regularly entertaining Lord Astor and his guests at Hever Castle. They rehearsed at Forge Cottage in the High Street, Edenbridge - hence their name.
From those early days of Christmas carols, the Society has expanded to include stage musicals, book shows and pantomimes. Productions are mainly staged in the W.I. Hall in Edenbridge, but they have travelled as far as our French Twin Town, Mon St. Aignan.

Marlings Morris was formed in 2001 in the tradition of North West Morris, and are now based in Edenbridge in Kent.
Of the many different types of Morris dancing, North West is one of the more spectacular, giving a noisy and colourful display. It developed in the industrial towns of the north-west of England, where clogs with leather uppers and wooden soles tipped with iron were the everyday footwear of the working people.
They practice Monday nights 20:0-22:00 and the second Saturday of the month 10:00-13:00 from September to May in The Edenbridge Scout Hall.
This super friendly group are always looking for new dancers. North West Morris is fun to dance, easy to learn and an excellent way to keep fit!
If you would like to join, or just want to go along and watch to see if it is for you, visit they Facebook page: Marlings Morris Dance School or click the link below.
Eden Songsters was set up in March 2013 to coincide with the opening of a new community centre in Edenbridge. It is a friendly, informal group, singing a wide range of songs and learn parts by ear – no need to read music.
With an emphasis very much on singing for fun and wellbeing, they are sometimes invited to perform at community events, local clubs and care homes. The group has a strong sense of camaraderie and continued to meet online during lockdown.
From September 2021 rehearsals were able to start again at Eden Centre (Eden Church), where they meet on Wednesdays 2.00-3.30pm. New members are always welcomed, so if you enjoy singing please come and visit this supportive group.
This year Songsters will be accompanied by ladies from the A Capella Choir, who meet on Sunday evenings at the Paris Church.
